Bruno Mars’ new girlfriend is said to be ‘in fear of her life’ after receiving a series of threats from his obsessive fans.
According to the New York Post, Latina model Jessica Caban, 29, has been bombarded with insults on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter ever since her romance with Mars, 25, went public.
Caban – who has previously dated ‘The Apprentice USA’ contestant Kwame Jackson – was also accosted by a jealous fan head-on during a night out at the Chelsea Room in her native New York City on Saturday (13th Aug’).
As the model took a picture out on the pavement with club manager Jeff Krauss, an onlooker is alleged to have yelled: “I hate it when bitches don’t keep it real!”
Caban’s representative Eunice Quinones has since confirmed the abuse, and admits her client will no longer make public appearances without an escort.
“From now on she’s getting a bodyguard when she goes to events,” she said.
The model was first linked to Mars after the singer was spotted serenading her during a night out at the Co-Op restaurant in the Big Apple a fortnight ago.
